About Us

We are a small friendly firm of accountants who have been helping companies with their bookkeeping since 1998. We aim to provide a first class accountancy service to small to medium sized businesses, adding value to your business whilst ensuring all the onerous statutory tasks are completed with the minimum of fuss. We aim to treat each client as if they are our only client and the success of your business is just as important to us as it is to you.

Our clients range from a subsidiary of Shell UK to small sole traders, in industries from farming to hi- tech manufacturing, there is no business area where we can not help. Many but not all are registered for VAT and PAYE, both of which can be dealt with by us.

Partners

Martin is a qualified account, who qualified with the ACCA in 1986. Before starting 1^st Financial Direction he was the Finance Director for several local companies and has experience in dealing with all aspects of financial management, including tax and statutory accounts.

Trudie is a management accountant. She is a part qualified with CIMA. Before joining Martin in forming 1^st Financial Direction she worked for a number of different local organisations, where she headed up the finance department.

1st Financial Staff

Lorraine has been trained by Martin and Trudie, she brings accuracy and attention to detail to all her work coming from a background in banking. Lorraine is based in Thatcham but also travels to many of our client’s sites.

Janet Gillet is an experienced self-employed bookkeeper who is contracted to 1^st Financial Direction to work with our clients and to help out in busy times. Her flexibility means that no matter how tight your deadline maybe we can meet it.
